Explained: Data Governance

In today’s world, where AI is becoming increasingly central to business operations, ensuring that our data is well-governed is not just a best practice— it’s a necessity.

Adoption of AI feels easy for those using ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini for research. However, consideration of the use and governance of data into AI models is often missed. Last year saw Samsung inadvertently  release some of their proprietary chip code  because an employee uploaded the code into ChatGPT.

The training and use of information within these models is still hugely unclear with  Enterprises  and Small Business challenged by how best to take advantage of this new technology. Clearly defined policies on who, how and when to adopt and embrace AI solutions are required.
