Information Technology is a super-fast-paced industry combined with a changing world and IT can be incredibly daunting for even the most seasoned tech-focused people to keep up with. Where do you start your conversation about the challenges you face in business? The smart team and ManawaTech have organised a Tech Solutions Expo. We love an opportunity to support Tech Week 2023 so we’ve chipped in and have supported this event.

To have an opportunity for market-leading companies to come together in one room is an awesome opportunity for YOU and YOUR business to meet IT professionals within the local business community.

Most expos are about what a company can do for you. What brilliant new products are available, what new tech products can businesses WOW you with. Often companies spend huge amounts of money to dazzle, entice and demand your attention. There is nothing wrong with that, that’s just “business” right?  Let’s just think about that for a moment….in today’s world business owners are inundated with marketing, invites to events, meetings, teams’ calls, “networking” ……. the list doesn’t really stop. We seem to clear our emails and then magically we have another wave of people trying to “reach out” to us, or who are checking in to let us know they “haven’t forgotten” about us and that’s just from the people who “know” us let alone the spamming and phishing emails that bombard us daily.

The YORB team want this Tech Expo to be about something even more important than IT, we want this to be about YOU and YOUR Business. Let’s have a conversation.

Having the right IT infrastructure, the right hardware, being secure with data, solid cybersecurity protection, and using IT to help us in business are all incredibly important, no doubt about that, but what is even more vital in business is people. That starts with YOU. We want to know about You.  Does YOUR IT business partner know who YOU are?

Business is all about people, we’re local, you can phone us, and we will answer and listen, you can come to us, and we will find time and listen. You don’t have to be a technical genius to have a conversation with the Yorb team.  We believe finding tech solutions is about understanding you and your business first and less about technology.   It’s likely that the very first thing we will do is ask YOU about YOU. Who YOU are and what YOU do matters to us……please don’t be shy, come and talk to the YORB team, because everything starts with a conversation.

If you think cybercriminals only go after big corporations in major cities, think again. The majority of incidents recorded by the NCSC impact individuals and small to medium businesses, proving that cyber threats don’t discriminate based on location - they target opportunity. With over 23,000 reports to the Netsafe helpline, and $17.8M in losses reported last year, small-town businesses are very much in the spotlight. In the past few months alone, three local accounting firms in regional New Zealand have suffered a data breach, and local ISP - Inspire was recently the target of a malicious cyber attack.
