This role is not about tickets or isolated project work. It’s about bringing clarity to complex problems, shaping the right solutions, and ensuring they are delivered right the first time.
The Opportunity - can be based in our Hawke's Bay or Palmerston North office
As a Technical Consultant, you will lead the design and delivery of technology solutions across a range of client environments. Your focus is on future state, design, and outcomes – not day-to day reactive support.
While others focus on stabilising existing environments, you focus on shaping what comes next ensuring the right solutions are defined, designed, and delivered.
You will:
Translate client needs into secure, scalable, fit-for-purpose solutions
Lead solution design and set clear technical direction
Scope and shape projects, major change, and solution architecture
Define client roadmaps aligned to business priorities
Partner on solution advisory across options, risk, effort, and commercials
Help clients navigate and adopt emerging technologies, including AI, in a way that is practical, secure, and aligned to real business outcomes.
Ensure projects deliver to agreed scope, quality, and outcomes
Provide technical leadership during delivery, guiding engineers and resolving complexity
Ensure structured transition to BAU with clear ownership and supportability
Align roadmap, pre-sales, and delivery into a coherent, executable plan

About You
You are a technically strong, outcomes-driven consultant who enjoys solving complex problems and seeing solutions through to delivery.
You bring:
5+ years’ experience in ICT, working directly with clients in delivery and advisory roles
Proven experience designing and delivering complex technical solutions end-to-end
Extensive experience in Azure and cloud platforms with a strong understanding of modern infrastructure, networking, and security principles
Ability to translate business requirements and emerging technology opportunities into practical, scalable solutions
Confidence providing technical leadership and guiding others during delivery
Experience in pre-sales, including solution design and scoping
Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Commercial awareness and sound decision-making
The ability to manage multiple clients and priorities while maintaining quality and follow-through
